A rumour that the Ahmedabad railway station is going to be shut with effect from 1st October is just a rumour, the Railway officials clarified here.
A rumour was in circulation over the social media platforms, mainly Whatsapp that the main railway station of Ahmedabad which is located in Kalupur area of city is going to shut for railway traffic and passengers with effect from 1st October this year to 27th August next year(2024). The message spreading this rumour also mentioned that the railway station shall be shut for its reconstruction, and the trains will be diverted to other railway stations of Ahmedabad such as Sabarmati, Vatva, Maninagar and Asarwa. A list of which train would be diverted to which railway station of the city was also in circulation.
As the people started inquiring about this, the railway officials late in the evening on Tuesday clarified that the railway station at Kalupur is not going to shut from 1st October and the progress of proposed reconstruction project is so far only at the tender awarding stage. Whenever the reconstruction will commence on the ground, the Railways will make relevant announcements.
