Lalbaugcha Raja First Look Unveiled

This year, Mumbai’s most famous Ganapati, Lalbaughcha Raja will enter its 90 year. The first Ganesh idol by Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal in Lalbaugh was incepted in 1934.

This year, Ganesh Chaturthi will begin on Tuesday, September 19 this year. The day is observed as the birthday of Lord Ganesha. Ganesh Chaturdashi, also called as Vinayak Chaturdashi or Ganesh Utsav, is an important Hindu festival.

As only a few days are left to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi or Ganesh Utsav 2023, Mumbai’s famous Lalbaugcha Raja’s first look was unveiled on Friday evening. Taking to X and other official social media handles, the official account of Lalbaugcha Raja shared a few images of Lord Ganesha’s idol.

Lalbaugcha Raja is one of the most famous and revered idols of Lord Ganesha in Mumbai, India. It is particularly significant during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion in the state of Maharashtra and other parts of India.

The history of the Lalbaugcha Raja is quite famous as it is the popular Ganesh Idol of Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, located at Putlabai Chawl, a worship place founded in 1934.

The idol of Lord Ganesha at Lalbaugcha Raja is known for its immense size and intricate craftsmanship. It is usually adorned with valuable ornaments and jewelry. The design and decorations of the idol change every year, making it a unique attraction for devotees and visitors. The Lalbaugcha Raja Ganapati idol has been taken care of by the Kambli family for over eight decades.

Millions of devotees from all over India and even abroad visit Lalbaugcha Raja during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival typically lasts for 10 days.
