A multilevel parking facility located opposite Atal Bridge and Flower Park on the Sabarmati Riverfront in the city was inaugurated today. The Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation has constructed an eight-story multilevel parking facility at a cost of Rs. 60 crore. The multilevel parking lot will open to citizens starting on Friday.
A small overpass has also been constructed to provide direct access to the Atal Bridge ticket office area from the parking lot, enabling people to park their vehicles and easily reach the Atal Bridge.
The AMC constructed multilevel parking on the riverfront, capable of accommodating 1,000 two-wheelers and 700 four-wheelers. Additionally, a Sky Walk has been built to provide visitors with direct access to the Sabarmati Event Centre from the parking lot.
The corporation will oversee the operation of the multilevel parking on a pilot basis. The parking rates have been set at Rs. 10 for two-wheelers and Rs. 20 for four-wheelers for the first two hours. For a duration of two to four hours, two-wheelers will be charged Rs. 20, and four-wheelers Rs. 40. For parking exceeding four hours, two-wheelers will be charged Rs. 30, and four-wheelers Rs. 50. This multilevel parking has been designed to ensure that visitors to the event centre and the riverfront encounter no parking difficulties, thereby minimizing traffic congestion.
