The Gujarat government signs Four Memorandums of Understanding(MoUs) for investments were signed in various sectors, including textiles, industrial parks, and sustainable environmental projects for the packaging industry. These agreements holds the potential for a capital investment of Rs. 1,000 crore and the creation of more than 10,000 employment opportunities in Gujarat.
As per this MoU, LBTex Pvt. Ltd. will be investing Rs. 450 crore in a textile unit at Kerala GIDC of Ahmedabad, which will lead to the creation of approximately 1,000 jobs. This unit is expected to become operational by January 2024.
Additionally, an MoU worth Rs. 288.75 crore was signed by Mascot South Asia LLP for establishing an industrial park across 155 hectares in the Manpura area of Mandal taluka. This park is projected to provide employment to around two thousand individuals and is planned to be operational by March 2026.
Furthermore, for the development of infrastructure in an industrial park spanning an area of 3.34 lakh square metres at Vesma and Kalakachha in Jalalpore taluka of Navsari, MoUs worth Rs. 99.12 crore have been signed. This initiative is anticipated to generate approximately 6,000 employment opportunities through the availability of 209 plots. It is slated to be operational by March 2025.
The fourth MoU is for a proposed joint venture project of Pacem Umashree Pvt. Ltd. and a Brazilian company for the recycling of PET bottles. The project aims to manufacture FIBC jumbo bags and entails an investment of Rs. 161.78 crore.
This sustainable environmental project, will come up across 54,000 square metres of land along Dholka-Bagodara Road at Gangad, in Ahmedabad district. It aims to become operational in October 2024. It will directly and indirectly provide employment to 1,100 individuals. The project, known as Jumbo Bags PET, focuses on recycling PET bottles for the production of FIBC bags.
