The Surat Municipal Corporation has bagged three awards in the India Smart Cities Awards 2022.
While Surat bagged the second position among smart cities, after Indore, the SMC topped the Covid-19 innovation award category, for immediate response and multiple initiatives taken during the pandemic in Surat.
Under the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) business model category, SMC got the second rank in the revenue generation category. It also bagged the second rank in the Innovative Idea award category, for coming up with self-sustaining public gardening.
A total of 66 winners in different categories were announced on Friday. The awards would be presented by President Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony in Indore on September 27.
