The Gujarat State Transport (ST) has increased the bus fare by 25 percent. The old bus fare per km was 0.64 paise per km and now it has increased to 0.80 paise. more than 10 lakh people will be affected by this price hike from August 1.
Gujarat ST has claimed that ST fares have been increased for the first time since 2014. The corporation has said that, ‘According to the resolution of the government in the year 2003, the fare has been increased due to the increase in the prices of diesel, dearness allowance, the fare has been increased from Rs 1 to Rs 6.
Passengers traveling on state local services will be marginally affected by the fare hike. even after this kind of fare increase, per kilometer fare of Gujarat ST will be lower than other states like Rajasthan, Punjab, Kerala, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh.
