Gujarat cadre IPS officer Gyanendra Singh Malik has took charge as the new Police Commissioner of Ahmedabad. The state government had recently transferred 70 IPS officers. In this, GS Malik was made the Police Commissioner of Ahmedabad. The 1993 batch IPS officer was posted as ADG (North) of CISF. Prior to this, Malik was the IG of Gujarat BSF.
Incharge CP Premveer Singh handed over the charge to IPS Gyanendra Singh Malik. After the retirement of Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Sanjay Srivastava in late April, the government handed over the charge of CP to 2015 IPS officer Premveer Singh. The Rath Yatra of Ahmedabad was completed under the leadership of Premveer. Not only this, on July 20, the investigation of the ISKCON Bridge Jaguar accident case was also completed under the leadership of Premveer Singh.
GS Malik, who belongs to Jind district of Haryana, has served in the state and the center. After a long time, he has returned to Main Policing In Gujarat, GS Malik has worked as a police officer in many districts including Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Gandhinagar, Narmada. Malik started his career as an ASP in Kutch district. GS Malik, while serving as SP in Bharuch, had registered many cases against the then tribal leader and then MLA Chhotu Vasava. Not only this, he also arrested the tribal leader and MLA.
These are the challenges before new CP
As the CP of Ahmedabad, the first challenge before Malik is to fix the traffic system of the city. After several cases of speeding vehicles in Ahmedabad came to light, the police and the local administration are on target from the High Court to the opposition. Apart from this, the city roads are encroachment free and there are challenges of crime control. these also include incidents of cybercrime.
