Ahmedabad City reported over 10,000 cases of conjunctivitis, leading to a significant increase in highly infectious cases at both government and private facilities.
The number of outpatients complaining about conjunctivitis crossed 2500 on Thursday; however, it was observed that many of these individuals were not experiencing conjunctivitis symptoms but were just worried.
The Amdavad Municipal Corporation to appeal to citizens, requesting them to refrain from visiting community health centres (CHCs) and primary health centres (PHCs) to obtain eyedrops unless they have symptoms of conjunctivitis.
