Amdavad Municipal Corporation has started registering all medical facilities including clinics, nursing homes and hospitals. now allopathic, homeopathic and ayurvedic clinics will also have to be registered.
The AMC said it has started implementing the Gujarat Clinical Establishment Act 2021 and in the first phase, it has started registering hospitals with 50 beds and above. These hospitals will have to pay Rs 50,000 for temporary registration while for permanent registration, they will have to pay Rs 2 lakh as fees.
With the new Act in place, the civic body has now become an executive authority reporting to the district collector. The old law required applicants to submit various documents, including building-use permission and C form – a certificate of registration that was often hard to obtain.
