Airport Police booked a man
for smoking a cigarette inside the plane. accused identified as Dungarji Rupsingh Kabavat. Dungarsingh belongs to Akoli village in Zalor district of Rajasthan. He used lighter in toilet of flight and started smoking cigarette inside. He is booked under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 336 which pertains to act endangering life or personal safety of others.
Indigo airway’s security executive Omprakash Dhanaji Pareva has in his complaint stated that Indigo flight 6E244 from Chennai to Ahmedabad was in the air on July 24 when at 5.30 pm, a passenger didn’t come out from the toilet for long time. When a flight crew member Gurleen Kaur checked, there was a smell of smoking. When checked the dustbin of toilet, a half burnt cigarette and ashes were found inside.
The passenger who had left toilet was sitting on seat number 24A. When questioned the passenger said he had not done smoking. When his seat pocket was checked, it was containing Gold Fake brand cigarette packet and Enjoy brand lighter.
