140 passengers were stranded on Sunday night after their flight from Ahmedabad International Airport to Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City was delayed due to bad weather. Passengers were outraged at having to sit at the airport all night.
The Vietjet flight from Ahmedabad to Ho Chi Minh City was scheduled to take off at 11.50 on Sunday night. 144 passengers arrived at the airport at 9.00 pm and sat in the terminal waiting for the flight after completing baggage check-in and security boarding. As the flight did not take off at the scheduled time, the ground staff repeatedly inquired when the flight would arrive, but there was no whereabouts of the flight. Thus all the passengers were stuck waiting at the airport.
Meanwhile, the airline said that the flight was delayed due to bad weather in Vietnam. the airline company was forced to provide refreshments to all the passengers on board. Passengers who arrived at the airport at 9 pm had to sit for 6 hours the whole night. Thus, after the flight was delayed for 4 hours, the passengers leaving early on Monday morning at 4 am were put in a lot of trouble. Another Akasha flight to Mumbai was delayed by half an hour and IndiGo to Varanasi by an hour.
Another flight of Vietjet from Ahmedabad to Hanoi will now be daily. However, this flight was operated four days a week until now.
