Heavy traffic not allowed at Ahmedabad Airport from July 14 to August 2. as the dates when Haj pilgrims are supposed to return and the arrival of foreign dignitaries for G20 meetings in Ahmedabad are clashing, the police Department has decided to keep heavy vehicles like luxury buses away from the airport to avoid traffic snarls.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the deputy commissioner of police (Traffic), officials of the Gujarat State Haj Committee and volunteers.
The committee also requested relatives of Haj pilgrims to come to the airport in small vehicles and in smaller numbers. This arrangement will be in place between July 14 and August 2, when the last flight is scheduled to arrive with the Haj pilgrims.
