An incident of theft of gold and silver coins from an elderly passenger’s hand bag at Ahmedabad airport has taken place during checking. The airport police have registered a case and have started the investigation.
Mayur Zaveri (64), a resident of Paladi Ahmedabad, was on his way to visit his son in San Francisco. he traveled by air from Ahmedabad to Delhi and from Delhi to San Francisco.
Zaveri took the help of a wheelchair at the airport due to pain in his leg. after the checking was completed, an Air India employee took Zaveri’s handbag saying he wanted to check it. Zaveri handed over his handbag to the employee for checking. After a while, the employee came back with the bag. when it was time for the flight, he left to board.
When he reached his son home in San Francisco, he checked his bag and found that 25 grams of gold and 250 gram silver coins were found missing. Its estimated price is Rs 1.65 lakh.
Zaveri’s wife has filed a complaint at the airport police station. she has demanded that the police should check the CCTV and arrest the accused.
