A gas-based cremation home for dead animals will soon come up at Valsad district’s Vapi municipal Corporation at a cost of Rs 74 lakh. Currently, dead animals are buried at the solid waste disposal site of Chandor area.
A proposal for a new cremation home for animals was floated. The administrative officials, calculated the cost of the project. With state and central government grants, a new cremation home for animals will be set up.
The contract was given to a Pune-based agency. The work has started and in the next couple of months it would be finished.
The new cremation home will be near the cremation home of humans at Chandor. It will have two gas-based chambers -one for small animals like stray dogs, pigs, and goats and another for big chamber for cattle (buffaloes and cows). the GSPCL (Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited) have agreed to a free supply of gas.
