Now, Air India will have McCann work its magic for the Maharaja makeover as the Prasoon Joshi-led agency has bagged the Tata Group airline’s advertising mandate. The Tatas have shown faith in Joshi-headed McCann Worldgroup India with the revival of Air India’s once iconic advertising and branding.
McCann Worldgroup India has won the advertising and marketing communications mandate for Air India, following an extensive multi-agency pitch. The appointment comes as Air India has embarked on a five-year turnaround plan to become a worldclass global airline by investing in customer service, technology, and products.
As part of its plan for the carrier’s makeover, the advertising agency will develop a new brand platform and a range of multi-channel marketing communication. “McCann India’s passionate and proactive approach, inspiring leadership, and proven track record of creative success positioned the agency as the ideal choice for AI,” McCann said in a statement.
The carrier has Earlier this year, the Tata Group-led carrier announced its five-year transformation plan ‘Vihaan.AI’, which was aimed at addressing the legacy issues in order to put the airline on a runway to growth. Now, the airline has onboarded the ad giant to add more wings to ‘AI Maharaja’ makeover. AI chief commercial and transformation officer Nipun Aggarwal said that they are building Air India as a ‘global airline with an Indian heart’. “The new Air India will be a manifestation of the aspirations of the global Indian.”
