Thieves stole valuables worth Rs 21 lakh from the house of a chartered accountant in a residential society on Sola Science City Road.
Pulin Purohit, a 57-year-old chartered accountant from Memnagar, lodged a complaint with the Bodakdev police on Sunday that he came to know about the theft at around 1.15 am on Sunday. Purohit said, “My domestic help Gaurishankar called me after midnight and told that the door of his room was locked from outside.
My wife went to open his room and found that the refrigerator door was also open and some snacks were lying outside Were.” FIR
He also found that the shelf door on the ground floor of their two-storey house was open.
Purohit checked the shelf and found out that valuables were missing. He said in the FIR that valuables including gold jewellery weighing around 350 grams, two pieces of diamond jewellery and silver coins, having total worth of Rs 20.80 lakh, were stolen from the shelf.
Police could not find any CCTV footage as the thieves did not enter from the front area of the house where CCTVs were installed. The Bodakdev police have registered an FIR of theft and started investigation.
