A plan to hire towing vans to remove illegally parked vehicles was rejected by the standing committee of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC). The committee declared that the police, not the AMC, are in charge of towing away vehicles that have been parked illegally.
The committee chief, Hitesh Barot, emphasized that the main role of the AMC is to provide essential services such as water and sewage.
He added that the police are equipped with the necessary resources and should coordinate with traffic police to ensure a smooth towing process with minimal disruption. Furthermore, he expressed concern that if the AMC were to undertake this task, it could lead to confusion.
