The human approach of CID Crime’s cyber cell unit saved the lives of four youths whose posts and videos of suicide after being disappointed in a love affair went viral on Instagram. The police rescued the young men who were close to death.
Senior officers of CID Crime have instructed the cyber cell to keep a watch on the posting of suicide videos or posts on social media to save human lives. Following this, the cyber cell set up a watch on 100 media posts and knocked on the doors of four families in four districts to save the streak of happiness that pushed away the shadow of mourning.
The cyber cell immediately informed the Bharuch SP after seeing the video of a youth of Vedach village in Jambusar taluka of Bharuch district, who had taken poison during an affair. Based on this, the police immediately reached the village of Vadech and took the poisoned youth in a jeep for treatment and shifted him to the SSG hospital. With the help of the police, the life of the youth was saved.
The cyber cell informed the Gir-Somnath control room and the Bhavnagar district police about the viral video of youth living in Girgarhda and Bhavnagar district committing suicide in one-sided love. On the basis of the message of the cyber cell, the police of both the districts traced the two youths who posted the idea of dying. police counseled them and assured them of all help. After the help and persuasion of the police, both the youths changed their minds and are now leading a happy life.
After failing in 10th standard, a young man living in Tapina district went to the field and took a picture of a bottle of poison and wrote the text ‘Sorry friend, today is my last day’ and posted it virally. The cyber cell immediately informed the Tapi District Police Control after noticing this post and the local police found the youth and persuaded him not to take such a step.
