The Ahmedabad Police crime branch team has seized a quantity of e-cigarettes and foreign cigarettes from a paan parlor near the airport. 161 boxes of foreign cigarettes and 11 e-cigarettes have been recovered by police. The crime branch has arrested Mayur Kishorebhai Mulchanda (resident of Sindhi Colony, Sardarnagar), the owner of Pan Parlor.

With the closing down of hookah bars in Ahmedabad, many youths have turned to e-cigarettes, which the state government banned in the year 2019. Despite the ban imposed by the state government, e-cigarettes are being sold illegally in various areas of Ahmedabad.
Most of the pan shops in the city were selling smoke of e-cigarettes ranging from 500 rupees to 3 thousand rupees, on which the police and agencies have turned a red eye.
