A third terminal could soon be added to the city’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA).
While efforts are being made to expand the current T1 and T2, Adani Airports CEO Arun Bansal stated to sources on Wednesday that Ahmedabad’s airport requires a brand-new terminal due to the city’s rapid growth in passenger traffic.
One runway serves SVPIA. With only one runway (it has cross runways so only one can be used at a time), the Adani Group-run Mumbai Airport can accommodate 4.5 crore passengers annually.
So Adani Group can easily handle the traffic of T1, T2 and proposed T3 with the single runway.
