COP28
Thought leaders from nations on six continents pool their climate knowledge in the COP28 UAE Advisory Committee. The 31 members of the Committee, 65 percent of whom are from the Global South and represent policy, business, energy, finance, civil society, youth, and humanitarian action, will offer advice and guidance to the COP Presidency in the lead-up to COP28 and beyond.
The UNFCCC Secretariat announced in January 2023 appointed Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and UAE Special Envoy for Climate Change, as COP 28 President-Designate.
