Fifty golfers teed off and showcased their skills in the fourth round of Gulmohar Golfer of the Year 2023 (GGOY), played at the Gulmohar Greens – Golf & Country Club on May 20 and 21. GGOY is a part of the MP Financial Services-Go Golf 2023 calendar.
SP Singh was the winner in the 0-14 handicap category with an impressive performance of 81 gross and 35 points, just edging out Avtar Singh, who notched up a score of 81 gross and 33 points. In the 15-23 handicap category, Sanjeev Kumar claimed the victory with a score of 91 gross and 34 points. Brigadier AK Singh secured the runner-up position with 86 gross and 33 points.
The 24-36 handicap category witnessed an excellent performance by Kamlesh Tiwari, who won with a score of 93 gross and 35 points. Namit Sharma was the category runner-up with 95 gross and 33 points. The three winners won 3,000 reward points for their efforts and the runner-ups 1,800 points.
Tvisha Patel emerged as the winner in the junior category with 87 gross and 34 points. Juhi Mavani was the runner-up with 101 gross and 32 points. Tvisha won 1,250 reward points for her performance while Juhi took home 1,000 points. A total of 23 golfers across all categories earned reward points for their achievements. The tournament also featured three skill competitions. Manil Agarwal won the skill competition for the longest drive at hole # 1 with an incredible shot of 272 yards.
Devrat Singh Rajawat won the competition for the shot closest to the pin at hole # 3 by landing the ball just 14 feet and eight inches from the hole. Rutvik Thakkar won the competition for the second shot closest to the pin at hole # 9 by landing the ball just two feet from the hole.
