During a routine security inspection, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) discovered the illegal e-cigarettes. According to sources, the IndiGo flight to Raipur was scheduled to take off from the SVPI’s domestic terminal on Friday at 6:30 AM.
A passenger was singled out for additional scrutiny by CISF Sub Inspector Bhagwan Meena after he grew suspicious of him during the security inspection. While the initial physical search turned up nothing suspicious, the security personnel were notified by an electronic scanning device, and they discovered e-cigarettes, specifically the blueberry ice flavour, concealed in his boots.
The passanger was identified as 48-year-old Raipur, Chhattisgarh, resident Manish Shah. In his hometown, he had paid Rs. 1500 for the electronic cigarette. CISF alerted local police, who quickly detained Shah.
