Unseasonal rains and strong winds are expected in several regions of the state on April 26 and 27, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). The next two days are likely to see a continuation of high temperatures.
According to IMD, the Westerly Disturbances are also starting to become active, increasing the chance of showers.
For April 26 and 27, there will likely be a 40 kmph wind and unusual rain. Ahmedabad, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Bhavnagar, Botad, and Surendranagar are likely to experience thunderstorms on April 26. Rain is likely to fall on April 27 in Sabarkantha, the Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Chhota Udepur, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Bhavnagar, and Botad.
For the next two days, the IMD expects the temperature to rise by a maximum of 2 to 3°C above normal. The expected temperature is between 41 and 43 degrees Celsius. In addition, the Kutch district is expected to experience a heat wave on April 23 and 24. The state’s highest temperature on Sunday was recorded in Rajkot at 40.5°C, while Ahmedabad recorded 39.8°C.
