Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRCL) has reportedly given Siemens Limited two separate orders as part of a consortium with Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, according to an exchange filing.
The consortium’s share of Siemens Limited is Rs. 678 crore. The orders are for the Phase 1 of the Surat Metro (over 40 kilometres, 38 stations, and 2 depots) and the Phase 2 of the Ahmedabad Metro (over 28 kilometres, 23 stations, and 1 depot).
Project management, rail electrification technologies, including cutting-edge power supply and distribution systems, will be provided by Siemens Limited. Additionally, Siemens Limited will offer cutting-edge digital solutions for both metros, including Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
