Identity proof is mandatory to retrieve lost item in Metro

In both corridors of the Bhavin Patel Metro, it happens more frequently that people forget their valuables. 43 passengers’ valuables have been discovered in the Ahmedabad Metro’s Lost and Found Department over the course of the last six months, or from October 16, 2022 to March 25, 2023 which includes items like money, a phone, a bracelet, a ladies purse, a wallet, an earpod and important papers. All these items have been returned to the passenger after ID check by Metro Rail Corporation.

Identity proof is required to retrieve any items left behind in the metro, especially when people rush home and leave their luggage at the last stop, such as Thaltej or Vastral Village. When it goes to the metro depot, these items are found during its cleaning or are handed over to the control room at the station where the passenger leaves the item. Now, in order to retrieve a forgotten item from the metro, identification documentation is required.

This is how to find valuables

To recover lost luggage, travellers must show their id proof.  The item is destroyed if no passenger arrives within six months. – Four to five questions are asked to passengers about valuables such as cash or gold from the metro’s lost and found team. After getting satisfactory answer, they return the valuable to the owner.
