A patient with Covid positive status died for the second day in a row, according to city records. According to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), a 60-year-old female patient in Saraspur died as a result of the infection.
According to officials, she had hypothyroidism as an underlying comorbidity and was fully vaccinated. Six people have died in the city in the last 31 days. 218 new Covid cases were reported across Gujarat, with 98 from Ahmedabad.
Other cities with 25 cases included Vadodara, Surat, and Patan, among others. With the discharge of 260 patients, the total number of active cases reached 2,013. Seven people were on ventilators in total. Five districts had no active cases as of Sunday evening.
Meanwhile, Covid infections in the country have increased in recent days, with daily fresh infections reaching 2,994 on April 1, 3,824 on April 2, 3,641 on April 3, 3,038 on April 4, 4,435 on April 5, 5,335 on April 6, and 6155 on April 7.
As of Sunday, the total number of active cases was 32,814, with a daily positivity rate of 3.39 percent, according to the health ministry.
