The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has raised tolls at 816 toll plazas across the country, including 49 in Gujarat.
The toll on the popular Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway will rise by 10 to 15%. The new fare will go into effect on April 1. A single trip between Ahmedabad and Vadodara will now cost Rs 135, up from Rs 125 earlier, while the return journey will cost Rs 200, up from Rs 190 earlier. The one-way fare between Ahmedabad and Nadiad is Rs 65, and the return fare is Rs 95. A single journey between Ahmedabad and Anand will cost Rs 65, with a return journey costing Rs 125.
Reacting to the increase in fares, Congress Spokesperson, Manish Doshi said, “The BJP before coming to power had promised Achhe Din for people but the reality is the Achhe Din has remained restricted to election rallies only. The reality of Achhe Din is such that prices have increased for most goods across sectors.”
