The city police have begun an investigation into the actions of conman Kiran Patel, who was arrested by Jammu and Kashmir police for posing as an Additional Director in the Prime Minister’s Office while enjoying Z plus security. Top city crime branch officials told sources that they are investigating how the conman allegedly stole a bungalow in Ahmedabad from its owner. Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir police have begun an investigation into how Patel obtained Z plus security, which requires extensive prior documentation.
Kiran Patel met the owner of the house in Ahmedabad, behind the ITC Narmada hotel, and told him that he could help him sell it for a much higher price.
“When the owner of the house agreed to sell the house, Patel convinced him to vacate it and live elsewhere so that the house could be renovated,” cops said.
Following the renovation, Patel began living in the house under the guise that someone needed to be present to show it to prospective buyers. This was discovered much later by the owner. The owner filed a police report about Patel’s illegal occupation of his home but did not pursue it.
A police official said, “We have officially called the owner of the house to get his statement recorded. He had sought a time of two days to get his statement recorded. We are also looking into various other alleged misdeeds of Kiran Patel in the city.”
