On Thursday, a class 12 Science student at Sheth Heerabhai Kanya Vidyalay in Maninagar was rushed to LG Hospital after complaining of discomfort and nausea while writing the paper.
Taj Mohammad complained of unease and difficulty breathing after writing the Chemistry paper for about 30 minutes. The invigilator and principal called an ambulance, and he was taken to the nearby LG Hospital. His parents have also been informed.
While confirming the incident, Centre and Principal Kalpana Brahmbhatt stated, “The student was fine when the question paper and answer-sheet were distributed at 3pm. He began writing the paper after 15 minutes of reading it. He complained of feeling uneasy around 3.30 p.m. We summoned an ambulance and took him to LG Hospital.”
The student could not complete the paper and will have to repeat the year. Dr Leena Dabhi, Medical Superintendent of LG Hospital, said Taj Mohammad was brought to the hospital around 3:30 pm. “The patient came down with a panic attack and he was given OPD base treatment,” she said.
‘Chemistry tricky, stats easy’
The Class 12 Chemistry paper proved to be tough and time consuming for students. Saanjh Matta, a student of HB Kapadia School, said, “It was neither easy nor tough. Some sections were lengthy and tricky.”
Students in class 12 general stream gave thumbs up to the statistics paper, saying it was easy and that a high score in the paper will improve their overall result.
