Due to a change in wind direction, Ahmedabad’s maximum temperature soared to 37.5° Celsius on Thursday, 7°C above average. 13.6°C was the lowest temperature ever recorded.
Bhuj was hottest in the state at 40.3°C, which is the highest for the city in the Kutch district for this time of the year. On February 19, 2017, Bhuj had recorded the highest temperature ever of 39°C.
Meanwhile, the weather office has predicted unseasonal rains around February 20 in various parts of the state.
Temperatures shot up across the state on Thursday with Gandhinagar recording 37.5°C, Vadodara 37.4°C, Surat 36.4°C, Rajkot 39.3°C and Naliya 36°C.
