As a Valentine’s Day gift to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, students at Auro University in Surat created a bouquet of 151 gold foil roses. The students are waiting for approval from the Prime Minister’s Office before handing it over to Modi personally.
The gold foil roses bouquet measures 3.5 feet tall by 2 feet wide.
“We are 10 students (friends) of the same class and we decided to give a special gift to PM Narendra Modi on Valentine’s Day,” Mahek Mandhana, a third-year BBA student, explained. We sought assistance from Surat jeweller Deepak Choksi. The jeweller assured me that he would cover all of the costs. All ten students have worked tirelessly over the last four days to complete the gold foil flower bouquet.”
“We got the bouquet delivered on Monday and then wrote an email to the PMO asking for permission to hand over the gift,” she added. We have not received a response, but we remain hopeful.”
“On Valentine’s Day, we give gifts to near and dear ones, whom we love and respect a lot,” Mahek added. PM Narendra Modi represents the country’s youth. We wanted to express our appreciation to him in a unique way.”
“It was a noble concept of the students who told me that they wanted to give something different to the Prime Minister,” Choksi said. I proposed a bouquet of gold foil roses that could be preserved for a longer period of time.”
