Ahmedabad, India’s first UNESCO World Heritage City, will host the sixth Urban 20 summit.
The sixth U20 invokes city solidarity with the goal of deepening collaboration among cities and collectively finding common solutions that are consistent with the G20’s overall goals. It focuses on six priority areas that are critical for motivating city-level action in response to global agendas. This year, over 35 international cities, among others, are participating.
The Gujarat government has scheduled a visit to Adalaj Stepwell for delegates on February 8, followed by dinner with Ahmedabad Sherpa, Praveen Chaudhary.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will attend the plenary session on February 9, as will Union Minister Hardeep Puri, who will deliver a virtual address, and Amitabh Kant, India’s Sherpa to the G20.
On February 10, delegates will be taken on a tour of Sabarmati Ashram and Atal Bridge, Sabarmati Riverfront, and Ahmedabad Heritage Walk.
