According to an official statement on Sunday, Indian Railways has created a highly unique trip called ‘Garvi Gujarat’ to highlight the spiritual and cultural heritage of the vibrant Gujarat State by operating its Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme.
The launch of the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train coincides with the government of India’s “Dekho Apna Desh” programme to promote domestic tourism.
The IRCTC-run special tourist train will depart Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station on February 28 for an eight-day journey. Boarding and deboarding facilities are available at the railway stations in Gurugram, Rewari, Ringas, Phullera, and Ajmer for the convenience of visitors.
The main attraction at Kevadiya, the first stop on this train travel package, will be the Statue of Unity. The entire train will travel approximately 3500 kilometres over the course of its eight-day journey.
The tour will include stops at well-known Gujarati pilgrimage and heritage sites such as the Statue of Unity, Champaner, Somnath, Dwarka, Nageshwar, Beyt Dwarka, Ahmedabad, Modhera, and Patan.
Two nights in hotels will be spent, one in Kevadiya and the other in Ahmedabad. The destination’s daytime stopover will be used to visit Somnath and Dwarka.
The IRCTC tourist train will be an eight-day all-inclusive tour package and the prices of tickets will cover all facilities.
