The Ahmedabad DEO (city) initiative to launch a “pre-board” exam for class 10 students in order to alleviate exam anxiety has received widespread support. 45,563 students from Ahmedabad have registered to take the “pre-board” exam, out of the approximately 48,000 students who will take the class 10 board exams.
According to officials, 13,125 students have registered to take the class 10 exam in English (first language), 32,641 in English (second language), 9,531 in Maths (Standard), 41,091 in Maths (Basic), and 45,446 in Science and Technology subject exams. The DEO City is only holding exams for three subjects.
DEO City R M Chaudhari said, “We did not expect such a huge response. This proves that students are interested in appearing for exams, especially as this is going to be their first experience of appearing in a board exam. The idea was to remove their fear and give them a first-hand experience of completing the exam within the three-hour time.” AM
