Shital, her brother Sunny, and their neighbor Sonal get ready for school every morning on a footpath in Ahmedabad, where they live with their parents. The only distinction is that their school is housed within a bus.

Buses converted into classrooms known as “Signal Schools” are guiding the lives of street children toward a brighter future by introducing them to books, blackboards, and the ABCs of education.

Every morning, up to 12 of these buses double as “Signal School,” picking up 125 children like Shital.
