A fire broke out on the 12th floor of the Takshashila Air Residential Tower on Friday, fire department officials said.
No casualty was reported.
According to Ramesh Merja, a fire officer, five teams of fire fighters were dispatched, and they were able to put out the flames in less than an hour.
Despite the fact that residents of the affected floor were saved, two elderly people complained of suffocation and were rushed to the hospital right away.
An ice factory in Bilimora town, in the Navsari district, was reported to have a gas leak of ammonia on Thursday night.
People in the neighbourhood hurried out of their homes, complaining of itchy eyes and a burning sensation in their throats.
According to a fire officer, the most severely affected person has been admitted to a private hospital.
The fire department needed at least 20 to 30 minutes to stop the factory’s ammonia gas leak.
