To advance Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Khadi for Nation” and “Khadi for Fashion,” the Khadi and Village Industries Commission organised an exciting Mega “Khadi fashion show” on January 29, the first ever on salt-pan covered white fields at “Rann of Kutch.”
This massive event was the first of its kind in the Rann of Kutch and was put on by KVIC’s “Centre of Excellence for Khadi” in an effort to expand the definition of Khadi among young people in the nation and abroad. It also promoted cultural heritage and art.
Its goal is to further promote the superb design of Khadi clothing and accessories, as well as to market Khadi as a brand internationally.
In this Khadi fashion event, students from NIFT, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, added to the excitement by modelling on the catwalk.
Manoj Kumar, Chairman of KVIC, announced on this occasion that KVIC had organised a mega-fashion show for Khadi for the first time ever in Rann of Kutch, which will serve as a platform for the promotion of the Khadi brand.
It would inspire Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to carry out the promises of a developed India and advance the vision of “AtmaNirbhar Bharat” as well as disseminate new designs among lovers of khadi.
Tourists from all over the world gathered to see the Rann show. On this occasion, folk singer Borelal enthralled the crowd by singing well-known regional folklore.
Khadi is a symbol of the Swadeshi movement, and it has been a pioneer in establishing its tenacity as a fabric that is both empowering and modern in its interpretation. That is why khadi has gained popularity among the younger generation and is now recognized as an effective medium of communication.
