Ahmedabad is likely to get colder with the lowest temperatures falling further from today after three straight days of fog and a drop in daytime temperatures, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted in a forecast.
Tuesday is expected to be sunny in the city, with a minimum temperature of 13 degrees and a likely maximum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius, according to the IMD.
“Fall in minimum temperatures by 2-3 degrees during the next 24 hours. After that, no large change during subsequent four days likely over the region,” the IMD forecast said.
As per weather department officials, Monday was the third consecutive day when the city saw fog with a drop in day temperatures along with suspended water molecules. Dense fog engulfed various parts of the city including SG Road and SP Ring Road on Monday morning. The visibility also remained low till 8.30 am, affecting traffic in some areas.
The state capital also experienced a double-season effect recently, with daytime temperatures remaining below average while evening temperatures were above average.
According to the IMD, the maximum temperature at 27.7 degrees Celsius was 1.5 degrees lower than normal, whereas the minimum temperature at 16 degrees Celsius was 3.1 degrees higher than normal.
