Gujarat is the nation’s leader in providing Netramani lenses to cataract patients. By 2025, Gujarat’s percentage of blind people is predicted to fall to 0.25 percent. The Health Minister, Rushikesh Patel, said this as he made his way to the Police Parade Ground in the Shahibaug area of Ahmedabad to salute the flag.
According to Minister Patel, under health programmes like the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), 1986 government hospitals and 915 private hospitals now have Rs 5 lakh each. Twenty years ago, people were denied access to advanced medical care or pricey surgery. There is now the option for cashless medical care.
More than 1.68 crore people in the state are gaining benefits from this scheme. Additionally, Gujarat is now the first state in the nation to offer cataract patients free eye drops. By 2025, the state government will have eliminated all cases of blindness, the minister voiced confidence.
The goal of achieving 25% is being kept in mind as work is completed. The accomplishments of the canal network and the provision of water to every home made possible by the Sardar Sarovar Project were also mentioned during this time. 11 Platoon participated in the parade and marched past on Republic Day. Freedom fighters were also honoured on this occasion.
