The Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) revealed that in 2022, it took action against 253 government officials from 27 government departments under the Prevention of Corruption Act and disproportionate assets. ACB had taken legal action against 173 officials by 2021.
According to ACB officials, in 2022, action was taken against one Class I official, nine Class II officials, 30 Class III officials, and 114 C IV-V employees, as well as 94 private individuals.
ACB said employees against whom action was initiated included 61 from gram panchayats, 46 from revenue department, 19 from urban development and 16 from the central government.
The bureau’s helpline received 14,757 calls, 26 of which resulted in legal action. Cases involving Rs 4.52 core were filed as DA offences.
