In the Gujarati town of Umreth, neighbours and the owner of the house managed to save a woman in her 20s whose throat had been slit by a man.
The police were in search of the attacker.
The incident took place on Sunday. According to a police officer at the Umreth police station, on Sunday afternoon, someone called the police to report that a woman in the Kachhiyapol area was yelling for help from a house.
When the team arrived, Hitesh Kachhiya, the owner of the home, and his neighbours had already saved the woman. She was rushed to Anand hospital because she was bleeding, where the medical staff immediately recommended Ahmedabad government hospital.
Hitesh, the home’s owner, claims that after the couple rented the property on Saturday, the youth attacked the woman with a sharp object and locked her in the bathroom before locking the door and running away. The couple’s identity had not been verified by the home’s owner, and no rental agreement had been signed.
