On Wednesday, a second-year student at the H.P. Shroff Arts College in Valsad, Gujarat, collapsed on the campus. Faculty members rushed him to the hospital, where he was declared dead from severe cardiac arrest.
This was the second instance of its kind, following the death of a Class 8 student in Rajkot for the same cause.
Aakash Patel, a fourth semester S.Y.B.A. student at our college, had passed away today, the college principal informed the trustees of Shree Nutan Kelavani Mandal.
According to college professors Chetan Aahir and Mukesh Chauhan, Aakash collapsed and they rushed him in their personal vehicle to the Kasturba Hospital, where doctors declaired him dead, a Valsad Town police station officer told to sources.
In his statement to the police, the student’s father, Dinesh Patel, claimed that his son had no medical problems and that he had no plans to file a complaint. The student died of severe cardiac arrest, according to the doctors’ primary diagnosis, and the body was sent for a post-mortem examination, the police officer said.
