Following allegations of irregularities in their operations on Friday, vigilance teams from the State Anti-Fraud Unit (SAFU) of PMJAY-MA Yojana Ayushman—the health insurance scheme—and Oriental Insurance Company Limited (OICL) removed three Surat hospitals from the list of those with impaneled status.
After vigilance teams from the Oriental Insurance Company Limited (OICL) and PMJAY-MA Yojana Ayushman—the health insurance scheme—found alleged irregularities in their operations on Friday, three Surat hospitals were removed from the list of hospitals with empanelled status.
A patient may receive free medical treatment worth up to Rs 5 lakh under the PMJAY-MA programme. However, when an accident victim sought treatment at Nilkanth Orthopaedic Hospital, the hospital administration refused to accept the Ayushman card. Authorities at Param Hospital are also said to have rejected Ayushman cards and only allowed patients to receive care after paying in cash. The teams discovered that Dharmanand Orthopaedic Hospital lacked a patient-only elevator.
