Police in Ahmedabad have arrested a woman who threw her three-month-old baby girl from the third floor of a hospital on January, 2, 2023.
According to Asifmiya Shaikh’s complaint, his wife Farzanabanu gave birth on October 5, 2022, at a hospital in Uttarsanda, Anand district.
Farzanbanu informed her husband of the baby’s disappearance on Sunday morning.
Shaikh and hospital staff searched for the baby and even informed the police.
According to the Asifmiya’s complaint, Farzanabanu can be seen coming out of the ward with the baby in her arms around 4 a.m., standing near a pillar for a while before returning to the ward empty handed, while checking the CCTV footage of the hospital corridors.
During police interrogation, the accused stated that she was tired of the infant’s illness and pain, which drove her to take such drastic measures.
When hospital security checked, they discovered the baby’s body.
The baby was admitted to the Vadodara government hospital for 15 days after birth, and on December 14, the family noticed intestine enlargement when it surfaced on the stomach, and the infant was admitted to the Ahmedabad government hospital on the recommendation of Nadiad doctor.
According to Police Inspector K.D. Jadeja, the complainant is also being questioned.
