Chemical-filled tanker caught fire on Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, causing several hours of traffic delays, said police.
According Kasa police station official, nobody was injured in the fire erupted in the tanker in the Medhvan Khind area around 3.30 am. He claimed that the cleaner and the driver of the car jumped out to safety.
Local firefighters arrived quickly and put out the fire in about two hours, according to the official. The official stated that the tanker was totally destroyed and that it was currently unknown what chemical it was transporting.
The cause of the fire had not yet been determined, he said.
