Police were looking for a man who was involved in human trafficking case involving infant boy.
Maharashtra’s Nagpur police detained a man and woman with an infant from a train, and it was discovered during initial interrogation that they were trafficking the child to Vijayawada. The case was moved to the Ahmedabad city.
According to the criminal complaint filed with Kalupur Railway police station on Tuesday evening, the Nagpur police detained Nagpur resident Draupadi Meshram and Mumbai resident Chandrakant Patel from the Navjivan Express train.
The police during initial investigation and checking of their mobile phones and whatsApp chats, had found that the man and woman were handed child outside the Kalupur railway station by a person named Krunal. He had given Rs 5,000 to the duo and asked them to deliver the child in Vijayawada.
According to investigation officer I.B. Gamit, the complaint has been made. As the child was turned over on the street outside the railway station, the police were checking CCTV footage and looking for a person by the name of Krunal.
