Music has no restrictions! It creates a soul and heart connection between people, leaving a lasting impression. Gujarati’s were moved by the festive track “Dakla” by Bhumik Shah during Navratri 2022, which created the ideal atmosphere for celebration among fans and followers. And you know what? At his concert in Ahmedabad, Arijit Singh performed the well-known Gujarati song for which Gujarati’s was completely “out of syllabus.”
It’s impossible to predict what Arijit is capable of, and this time, he based this assertion on his unexpected performance on “Dakla.” The well-known performer sang the well-known Gujarati song which is a favourite Navratri song for every Gujju, during his concert in Ahmedabad. Due to its energetic beats and folk music, the song resonates with them all year long not just during the festival. It is regarded as a well-known method of praising the Goddesses and inviting them to celebrations.
Meanwhile, Arijit’s version of ‘Dakla‘ sent Gujarati’s into a frenzy as they weren’t expecting a Hindi singer to come up with such a surprise to connect with the regional audience via their ‘own’ song. “Gujju’s were expecting that Arijit singh will sing a Gujarati song but Dakla came out of syllabus,” wrote a delightful fan while another user commented, “Petition to have Arijits version of Dakla on all music platforms.” Twitter user who couldn’t attend Arijit’s concert in Ahmedabad also stated his disappointment over the same. “Arijit sang Dakla yesterday. I’m the unluckiest to not attend his concert,” the user wrote.
‘Dakla’ has always had a special meaning for Gujjus. It is a traditional style of music that praises the state’s rich musical heritage while calling upon the Almighty. Every Navratri, Bhumik Shah releases songs called “Dakla” to promote Gujarati folk music in general. Without a doubt, he was successful in doing so as his song gained popularity throughout the nation and was eventually performed by a famous Bollywood singer at a recent performance.
