Police detained a fake baba from Kali Devi temple at Gujarat’s Junagadh. There was prize of Rs 25,000 on him. Seven teams reportedly spent about a year attempting to apprehend the suspect, according to SP Deepak Bhargava. As a priest, he was staying there. While running, he kept changing his name and appearance.
According to police sources, a rape victim reported their incident to Barmer women police station in January 2021. According to the report, occult Lal Baba, also known as Devnarayan, Devdas, Chunni Lal and Veerdev, used to visit Guu Kishoredas’ home. He used to administer medicine to put the victim’s aunt to sleep before raping her. He threatened to kill her if she told anybody.
After marriage, the victim was unable to get pregnant. She had an abortion, it was discovered during a medical examination. Later, the victim told her husband about the incident and a report was made to the police station.
According to SP, the special team with technical assistance got the information that Lal Baba was in the Junagadh district at the Kali temple pretending to be a priest. The baba was apprehended by Barmer police with the assistance of Junagarh police. He resides in Salumber, Udaipur.
