In a horrifying incident reported from Gujarat’s Rajkot district, a moneylender raped 37-year-old woman multiple times after her husband failed to pay the loan’s interest. The accused not only sexually assaulted women, he also to kill the woman’s children if she disobeyed his orders.
The accused loan shark identified as Deepak Vagadiya, a local of the Mavdi area. Following a complaint from the rape victim, the accused has been arrested by the police, according to report.
In her police report, the woman claimed that the accused had repeatedly raped her since January of this year. The husband of woman is an auto driver. In 2021, the victim’s husband took Rs 50,000 from Ajitsinh Chavda and agreed to pay Rs 1500 interest each month.
The auto driver paid the regular interest till January. However, the couple eventually failed paying regular interest because of other expenses, which caused the interest amount to accrue over the months. The accused Vagadiya used to visit the couple’s home regularly and threatened them if they don’t pay the interest.
